1. Leagues:
Each League will consist of 14 teams in two divisions of seven. UFS
features Lifetime (UL) Leagues and One-Year (ML) leagues. None of the
115 UFS Lifetime Leagues as ever folded are been downsized since they
began in 1990.
ULTIMATE LEAGUES are lifetime leagues
in which you keep your entire roster from year to year. To be eligible to
participate in an Ultimate League, you must have either played any part of
a season in any UFS sport or be able to prove that you have played in a fantasy
service and then received permission from the UFS commissioner. The current
UL league owners are some of the best fantasy sports owners in the country.
UFS wants owners in its UL leagues that are committed to improving
their team(s) every week of the season. Please play in 1-year ML leagues
if you can not make this commitment. If you are a first time UFS customer,
you must make your 2008 off-season deposit of $50 when you pay your
2007-franchise fee. In all UL leagues, all prizes will be paid as
a credit towards future UFS leagues. UFS will
send out balances upon request after all UFS UL team fees are covered
for one year and owner has made payments on time and not given back any
teams within the last 12 months. A W-9 tax form must be filled out on
payments over $600 and a 1099 Form will be issued to the IRS) No new UL leagues will be formed until existing "open" teams have been sold. If for any reason
you do not keep your UL team, you will be billed a $60 re-stocking
fee.
UFS UL leagues are very competitive! Owners are expected to field the best
lineup possible every week and owners neglecting their team(s) will have them
taken over and operated by UFS without refund.
2. Schedule:
You will play each team once in a 13 game head to head schedule.
3. Roster Size:
20 active players in one-year leagues and 21 in lifetime leagues.
Any combination of positions is allowed. Leagues
also have separate roster lists for players on Injured Reserve and
College Draft picks. Players on IR can not be traded. Any player
announced by the NFL as on "NFL IR" or "out" for the upcoming
week will be eligible for your IR list. Suspended players are not
IR eligible. The moment he returns to action, UFS will automatically
place him on your bench, unless you have already placed him in your
lineup. There is no grace period when a player returns to action.
If activating a player leaves you over the 21-man active limit, you
will have to waive down to the 21-man limit in order to make any further
transactions and/or lineup changes.
4. Draft: In all leagues, the draft will last 20 rounds. Remaining roster slots can be picked up via the Free Agent drafts and the order for those before the season starts is 14 to 1. All Drafts will be drafted online at www.mockdraftcentral.com.
Each draft will emply "KDS" Kentucty Derby System and "3RR" 3rd Round Reversal.
DRAFT ORDER using KDS:
KDS stands for "Kentucky Derby Style." In past years, we randomly
assigned the draft slots from 1 to 14. You will be
able to leave a "KDS" list where you get to list your preferred draft
slot order. When we pull the random numbers as in the past, we will
then consult your list and give you your highest ranked slot left on
your preference list. This gives each owner just a little more control
on where they want to draft. An example of two "KDS Lists" -
(1,2,3,4,9,10,11,12,5,6,7,8,13,14),
(1,2,4,3,14,5,6,7,8,9,13,12,11,10)
What Is 3RR: 3RR Stands for 3rd Round Reversal, which allows the bottom of
the draft order to begin Round 3 after also starting Round 2. It's one way
to balance the talent in a 14-team league. All leagues will have the
following draft order:
Why Is 3RR Used?: 14-team leagues are tough because of their size and 3RR
balances out all draft spots by giving the later picks the start of the
draft in round 3. Round 1: 1-14
Round 2: 14-1
Round 3: 14-1
Round 4: 1-14
Round 5: 14-1
Round 6: 1-14
Round 7: 14-1
Round 8: 1-14
Round 9: 14-1
Round 10: 1-14
Round 11: 14-1
Round 12: 1-14
Round 13: 14-1
Round 14: 1-14
Round 15: 14-1
Round 16: 1-14
Round 17: 14-1
Round 18: 1-14

team until the following week. There are no "conditional or if" waivers.

8. Trades: Always
Free! Team owners are encouraged to improve their teams by trading
with each other. Both owners must report the trade to UFS involving
exactly the same players. The trade is only official after you see
it on the UFS Internet system. A trade is only
considered entered by an owner after pressing the submit button AND
carefully reviewing the confirmation page that follows. It is up to
each owner to review this confirmation page to make sure your trade
was entered exactly the way you wanted it. You may then use
newly acquired players if you call/submit a new lineup before the
first kickoff of the week. Multiple player deals are allowed. You
may acquire up to FIVE players per week via trades. You may trade
away up to FIVE players each week. Draft picks counts as players in
UL leagues. You must keep any player you trade for one week. If you
trade a player away, you cannot get him back in any trade until five
call-in periods have passed. The UFS Commissioner
has the power to veto any trade deemed too one-sided or not in the
best interest of the league. Teams that have no realistic chance of
making the playoffs cannot make trades with teams that are contending
as the trading deadline approaches. UFS leagues are won by
testing your knowledge and not taking advantage of a team that had
bad luck, injuries, draft, etc.. All trade decisions are final. Trade
deadline is the Thursday before Week 10. UFS has 20 years of
experience judging trades. Players on IR can
not be traded.
9. Weekly Lineup:
1 QB, (2 RB's & 4 WR's) OR (3 RB's & 3 WR's), 1 TE, 1 Kicker, 1 Def.
Team and 1 Overtime Player. Overtime player will be used as a tiebreaker.
All lineup moves are FREE! There are no backups at any position. The lineup
deadline is kickoff of the first game each week. That could be a Thursday,
Saturday, or Sunday, depending on the week involved. Calls before and after
the posted call-in periods are not accepted.
10. Wins/Losses:
Your team's score will be compared to that of your scheduled opponent.
The team with the highest score for that week wins! Click
here for player
scoring. If there is a tie for Team of The week, the prize will be
awarded to the team with the highest OT scoring player. Scoring for
the week is final as of Tuesday, noon, PT, each week.
11. Overtime Player:
If a game ends in a tie, the team with the highest scoring OT player will
be awarded 3 points, as if they kicked a FG to win the game. An OT player
cannot be a player listed in your weekly lineup (see #6) or your other defensive
team(s). If the OT players have the same score, the game ends in a tie. If
a playoff game ends in a tie, the highest scoring player (def. team not included)
will break the tie.
12. Playoffs:
Two division winners and the next four best teams regardless of division
make the playoffs. If there is a tie for a playoff seed, it will be broken
by best head-to-head record among all teams that are tied. Total points breaks
a head-to-head tie.
